Deepen: A Couples Retreat
A 5-night couples retreat in Costa Rica for partners ready to deepen intimacy, strengthen communication, and grow into the next season of their relationship
September 27th- October 2nd 2026
Relationship is one of the greatest growth paths we walk.
It will ask everything of us —
our honesty, our humility, our courage, our capacity to listen, our willingness to repair, our devotion to truth, our ability to keep becoming.
And when it is tended well, relationship becomes more than something we sustain.
It becomes a place of profound nourishment, transformation, and life.
Thrive Together is a 5-night immersive retreat in Costa Rica for couples who want to deepen their connection, grow through relationship, and create a more intentional, alive, and nourishing partnership.
Whether you are newly coupled or have been together for 20+ years, this space is for partners who want to invest in the life they are building together.
This is not only for couples in crisis.
It is for couples with vision.
Couples who know there is more available.
More intimacy.
More truth.
More play.
More connection.
More depth.
More life.
This retreat is for couples who want to grow on purpose
Some couples wait until things are broken to seek support.
But thriving relationships are built by people willing to tend to them before disconnection becomes the norm.
This retreat is for couples who want to:
deepen emotional intimacy
strengthen communication
repair recurring patterns
reconnect through presence and play
grow their capacity for truth, listening, and partnership
create a more aligned and intentional foundation for the next season of life
remember what brought them together — and discover what wants to emerge now
Not just five beautiful nights away.
Not just important conversations in a beautiful place.
But a relationship that feels more rooted, more intentional, and more able to thrive in real life when you return home.
Maybe you’re in an incredible season and want to build on that.
Maybe you’ve felt distance creep in and want to reconnect.
Maybe you’re in a transition — parenthood, career shifts, burnout, healing, expansion — and you want to meet this season as a team.
Whatever season you’re in, if you want to deepen, thrive, and grow through relationship, this retreat is for you.
Why Costa Rica?
Costa Rica carries a certain medicine.
The warmth, the beauty, the water, the lushness, the rhythm of nature — all of it invites us to soften, slow down, and return to what matters.
So much of daily life pulls couples into urgency, responsibility, and routine. Costa Rica helps us step out of that and into a different quality of presence.
Here, the body can soften.
The nervous system can settle.
The heart can open.
And from that place, connection becomes easier.
Conversation becomes deeper.
Pleasure, play, and presence return.
This is not just a beautiful destination.
It is part of the medicine of the retreat.
What this retreat offers
Over 5 nights together, you and your partner will step into an experience that supports both depth and delight.
You’ll have space to:
reconnect without the usual distractions
explore the patterns shaping your relationship
strengthen the foundation of your partnership
grow your tools for communication, repair, and mutual understanding
experience each other beyond roles, routines, and responsibilities
rest, reflect, and remember what matters most
This is a retreat for couples who want both breakthrough and nourishment.
The inner work and the exhale.
The honest conversations and the beauty of being held by paradise.
Who this is for
This retreat is open to:
newly coupled partners who want to build a strong foundation
long-term couples who want to renew and deepen their bond
married couples
unmarried couples
couples without children
couples with children
couples in a good place who want to become even stronger
couples navigating challenge who want support, perspective, and reconnection
You do not need to be in crisis to come.
You only need to be willing.
Willing to show up.
Willing to grow.
Willing to deepen.
Willing to let relationship be a place that evolves you both.
A retreat that welcomes parents, too
This retreat is not only for parents — it’s for any couple who wants to deepen and thrive through relationship.
But if you are parents, we know childcare can be one of the biggest barriers to saying yes.
So we’ve created options to support you:
Kids Camp Option
We’ll have a kids camp available for children ages 3–7, so parents who want to attend can do so with support.
Bring a Caregiver
If you’d prefer to bring your own caregiver, you’re welcome to do that too — they can attend for the cost of accommodations only.
Because your relationship matters too.
Not just before children.
Not someday when life slows down.
Now.

This retreat is rooted in the themes that help relationships truly thrive.
1. Communication that creates connection
Learn how to communicate in a way that fosters understanding rather than defensiveness, distance, or repetition of the same cycles.
2. Repairing recurring patterns
Every relationship has patterns. We’ll help you identify the ones shaping your dynamic and begin creating new ways of relating.
3. Emotional intimacy and deeper understanding
Move beyond logistics, assumptions, and surface-level relating into greater honesty, tenderness, and connection.
4. Partnership in your current season
Whether you’re newly together, raising children, building a vision, navigating change, or redefining your next chapter, we’ll support you in relating to this season as a team.
5. Shared growth and relational thriving
Explore how relationship can become a place where both people are supported to flourish — individually and together.
This is not about perfection.
It is about building the skills, awareness, and connection that allow your relationship to feel more alive, more resilient, and more nourishing. -
We believe relationships deserve to be nourished before they are depleted.
We believe couples need spaces where they can step out of the noise of daily life and truly see one another again.
And we believe that a thriving relationship is not built by accident — it is built through intention, care, truth, practice, and time devoted to what matters.
Our relationship has been a sacred path for both of us for a very long time. We have known each other since before we were teenagers. We still have notes from those early years, dreaming of the day we would wake up in the same bed and share the same last name. There was something in us, even then, that recognized the depth of what we were meant to become together.
We have now been in a committed relationship for 14 years, married for 11, and are raising three beautiful children together. Over all of these years, relationship has not simply been a part of our life — it has been one of our deepest teachers.
We do not believe relationship is meant to be a polished performance or the absence of challenge. We believe relationship is a path. A living orientation. A place where we are invited again and again into deeper honesty, deeper humility, deeper love, and deeper growth.
We know what it is to meet challenge. To misunderstand one another. To feel the weight of life, responsibility, parenting, and all that a shared life asks of two people. And we also know the beauty and strength that is forged when two people stay committed to listening, reflecting, repairing, telling the truth, and returning to one another again and again.
We know that love is not only revealed in the ease, but in how we fight, how we hold tension, how we stay when things are tender, how we soften, how we take responsibility, and how we choose one another through every season.
As a husband-and-wife team, we are not coming to this work from theory alone. We are living it. We are inside the practice of partnership every day. We are devoted to the work of building a relationship that is not only loving, but conscious, honest, nourishing, and alive.
This retreat was born from that knowing.
From our love for the work of conscious relationship.
From our deep belief that partnership can be a path of healing, devotion, and expansion.
And from our desire to create a space where couples feel supported not only to work through what is hard, but to build something truly strong, intimate, and life-giving together.
Imagine this…
Imagine five nights where your relationship gets to become the priority.
Imagine waking up in Costa Rica with nowhere to rush.
Imagine meaningful conversations with the space to actually finish them.
Imagine being supported to understand each other more deeply.
Imagine laughter, softness, beauty, truth, and renewed connection.
Imagine remembering yourselves not just as co-managers of life, but as partners. Lovers. Teammates. Humans becoming side by side.
Imagine being held by beauty while also being guided through the kinds of conversations and experiences that create real change.
Imagine leaving with not only beautiful memories — but with a stronger, more alive foundation for the life you’re creating together.
That is what Thrive Together is here to make possible.
What makes this retreat different
There are many beautiful vacations.
There are many relationship resources.
But this retreat brings together something unique:
A space where growth and connection meet.
Where your relationship gets to be seen as a living thing worth tending.
Where you are invited not just to “spend time together,” but to become more conscious in how you love, communicate, and build a life side by side.
This retreat honors that thriving relationships are created — through intention, devotion, honesty, and care.

Shuttle to and from San Jose is included!
There will be one shuttle picking guests up at Adventure Inn at 8am on September 27th. We are recommending guests to fly into SJO and book the night at Adventure Inn on September 26th to be ready to join the group shuttle Saturday morning.
The return shuttle will leave Samasati around 7:30 AM on October 2nd heading straight to San José (SJO) airport. The drive typically takes between 4 to 6 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions.
With that in mind, you have two options:
Book a later afternoon flight on October 2nd (to allow for travel time and airport check-in),
orStay overnight in San José on the 2nd and fly out the following day.
Airport Transfers The closest international airport to Samasati is Juan Santamaria Airport (SJO) in San Jose. This international airport is a 4-6 hour drive from Samasati or 90 minutes of travel via domestic flight to Limon airport with a shuttle ride to Samasati.
4 – 6 hour scenic drive with local food along the way
If you are in a road trip / exploration mood you can drive, take a private taxi or a shuttle service. The middle part of the drive is quite scenic as you will go through the mountains in a national park and you will get to stop over at spots serving local food. This drive duration will vary on traffic and how long you stop.
The shuttle ride is about $52 per person and the private taxi is $200. If there are more than 6 of you, we would charter a private shuttle for you which would be more cost effective.
Please check https://www.caribeshuttle.com/ for the latest schedule for departures from San Jose Airport to Samasati ( enter Puerto Viejo as the destination to get the schedule). Caribe recommends that you land 90 – 120 mins before the departure of the shuttle as it could take time to go through customs and collect luggage. However, our guests have made it with an hour to spare if you want to take that chance.
Local plane ( https://www.flysansa.com/en )
If you would rather just land and get here as quickly as possible there are local flights available:
– SJO To Limon Airport- 35 minute flight – about $100
Caribe Shuttle (https://www.caribeshuttle.com/) from Limon to Samasati – 40 minute drive – about $22Overnight Stay before heading to Samasasti
If you land too late to make the shuttle or the flight, then you can stay overnight at our partner hotel https://www.adventure-inn.com/ – they will give you a discount if you mentioned Samasati Yoga & Wellness Retreat referred you.
